Enersea Unveils New Company at Offshore Energy 2024
On the opening day of the Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference, Enersea introduced the latest addition to its corporate family.
Dieter Korndörffer, Managing Consultant at Enersea, announced the launch of Frequensea, the third sister company within the Enersea group, during a joint presentation at the Enersea & H2Sea exhibition stand. Frequensea has developed an innovative decommisioning tool designed to extract power cables, that are no longer in use, from the ocean. These subsea cables are often buried as deep as three meters below the seabed, presenting significant technical difficulties.
During the reveal, Dieter demonstrated the tool's groundbreaking functionality to an attentive audience. The patented technology utilises a vibration-based mechanism that liquefies surrounding soil, enabling the efficient removal subsea power cables. This process not only facilitates the recovery of valuable metals from the cables but also supports the transition to a circular economy by recycling materials that would otherwise remain unused.
